What we do

From walks to social events and fun days

What began as an idea of gentle walks to get blokes together in the hope of breaking down the stigma around talking about health and well-being, has grown to regular social events and activities. We now hold walks on a weekly basis spread across two locations, with new walks and walk leaders in the plans. We also hold regular social gatherings to enable those who aren't as mobile to join us. The events section on our Facebook page (which can be found by clicking the Facebook logo on this page) will have more up to the minute details, as well as one-off events and activities as they are announced.

Houlton Walks

The meeting point for these walks is the area next to the Tuning Fork restaurant. The ground can be a little wet during this walk so please wear appropriate footwear and clothing. Car parking is free at the Co-Op or at the rear of the Tuning Fork. Walks last around an hour.

Coombe Abbey Walks

We meet at the main car parking area, and follow the anti-clockwise main path around the whole of the Coombe Abbe park. Whilst this is a purpose made path, during wet weather it can become waterlogged, so please wear appropriate footwear and clothing. Car parking is charged here, and is £1 for the first hour, our walks are usually 50 minutes. There is the option to remain for coffees in the cafe after the walk.

Back and Forth Men's Mental Health Social Evenings

We are grateful and pleased to announce that we have secured the support of Broadstreet Rugby Football Club to hold our weekly social evening. The venue is well suited to our needs and has a bar serving hot and cold drinks, ample car parking as well as ample space for us to meet us a group, whilst still offering privacy. It also means that our family fun day in 2025 will be even bigger than this years. We meet here every Monday from 6pm. There is an option to be involved in the touch rugby sessions being run by the club if anyone wishes to do so.

The Lounge Kitchen and Bar

As well as the use of Broadstreet Rugby Club, we are kindly and generously being supported in holding a monthly social gathering at The Lounge Kitchen & Bar in Rugby. This is a smaller, more intimate venue, at the side of the Oxford Canal in Clifton upon Dunsmore. A great selection of drinks is available and both indoor and outdoor seating. Car parking is also available at the site. Meetings here are held on the second Thursday of every month from 7pm. Again, check our Facebook page for up to the minute details, as these events can change dependant on the private use of the location

Twisted Barrel Brewery @ Fargo Village

We are pleased to announce another new venue! Starting on Wednesday 4th December at 630pm and taking place on the first Wednesday of each month, come and join us and our hosts at the amazing Twisted Barrel Brewey and Taphouse at Fargo Village. A central City Centre location, serving the finest selection of ales.
